Fashion and Style

Style is something that belongs to an individual, a means of self expression.

How one dresses and express themselves is their style.

Fashion on the other hand, has to do with global trends.

The lines between fashion and Style are blurry.

On the catwalk , a model is part of fashion world.

The way they dress at home however is their personal style.

When they become an influencer and their personal style becomes iconic, they turn their style into fashion.💆

Good Hygiene Habits

How to take care of you on a daily basis:

  1. Take a bath or shower.
  2. Wear clean clothes.
  3. Take care of your hair.
  4. Brush your teeth.
  5. Make the regular washing of hands a habit.

Sweet Tooth Treats

Sugar cravings are extremely common, especially among women.

Infact up to 97% of women and the rest of the percentages for men report experiencing some sort of food craving including cravings for sugar.

This can lead to overconsuming of calories, sometimes on a regular basis and this can be prevented by having fruits or perhaps sugar free chewing gums or mints.

When you feel sugar cravings, what do you reach out for?

Yoga, Fitness for the Lazy

As much as I love Yoga, i'm not just a yogi as I love other forms of fitness as well.

I prefer do to atleast three types per week.

Yoga lends itself well to my love of being upside-down and bendy so ontop of that I do slow flow yoga sessions.

Yoga works with stretching and the idea of running and sweaty gym workouts just doesn't sit well with me.

Sometimes all it takes is the motivation of having another person by my side that makes everything seem a million times easier which is my older sister.

Just because you only have a short session, doesn't mean you didn't do it.

Take 15-20 minutes of your lunch hour.

The New Normal

The wearing of masks, regular washing of hands and hand sanitizing with alcohol based sanitizer became our new normal.

Wearing of a mask help prevent the spread of respiratory droplets and if everyone wears a mask when out in public, the risk of exposure to Covid-19 will be reduced in the community.

At this point it's not about should we talk to kids about Covid-19 but it's what should we talk to them about.

Children are known to thrive with an established routine.

However their usual day to day processes have been turned upside down due to corona virus.

Some kids may be experiencing increased negative emotions such as stress, anxiety and frustrations compared to other kids who adjust easily to all of the changes.

Parents and families are trying to adjust to a new way of doing life with remote job tasks, virtual learning from home and social distancing.

Travel Enthusiast

If you are like me, you absolutely love to travel.

It is part of who you are and when asked why you travel by friends, family or complete strangers you will probably tell them things like:

  • you love meeting new people.
  • you love experiencing new things.
  • you love seeing new places and tasting new food.
  • you love adventure and what the journey brings.
  • And you love putting yourself out of your comfort zone.

Tips to be safe on social media

  • Use a strong password. The longer it is the more secure it will be.
  • Use a different password for each of your social media accounts.
  • Be selective with friend requests. If you don't know the person, don't accept their request it could be a fake account.
  • Click links with caution. Social media accounts are regularly hacked and be on the look out for language or content that doesn't look familiar.
  • Be careful of what you share. Don't reveal sensitive personal information such as home address, financial information and phone number and one should never forget to log out their account.

Coping With Everyday Life

I once  heard of a story that a mother hugged her son not knowing that the hug could be their last.

So by knowing that life is short and unexpected realities can represent themselves to us, we can do something to ensure the best of our lives.

The world is full of distractions, commitments and responsibilities so one needs to live it up at the moment while planning to work harder in the near future.

Dedicate time to re-examine your goals and cherish the things that rebuild your soul and mind.

God gives us a reward for our labour such as sleep often when tired, exercises and soothing music to help with stress.

Ask yourself questions like what can I do now to prepare myself for a better future and engage yourself wholeheartedly with the beautiful blessings of life.

Motive For Students

Students often excell well when they are fascinated by the subject or when they find a sense of it's relevance to life and the world as well as when they see a sense of calling to it and accomplishment in mastering it.
Some students may say literature interests them, others learning math enables them to think clearly and overall most of the students feel good when they succeed in class.
Parental expectations and expectations of other trusted role models as well as the need to keep scholarships coming, helps to motivate the students to perform well academic wise.

Mental Wellness

Your mental well being is about your thoughts and feelings as well as how you cope with the ups and downs of everyday life.
It's not the same as mental health but the two can influence each other.
Long periods of low mental well being can lead to the development of mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression.
Importantly, good mental well being is not the absence of negative thoughts and feelings.
We all face difficult and challenging situations that cause us to feel angry or sad.
Instead it is about managing those feelings so that you are able to:
  • feel confident in yourself
  • maintain positive relationships
  • work productively and cope with normal stress

Life After University

As great as it feels to hand in the final essay, to finish that last exam and to finally leave University can be quiet overwhelming.
It's a big thing to finish education but worrisome to go out there in the world and do something for yourself and the nation at large.
The best way to fight that feeling is to start planning what exciting changes are coming next.
As a graduate, one needs to seek and find a job although this can be a little traumatizing while looking for a job one can start off a small business to sort out their needs.
It's just a matter of one discovering their hidden talents such as being a hairdresser or perhaps a nailtech.
